LOOK: For the First Time, the “More Color, More Pride” flag and Converse’s Pride Collection will Fly in the Philippines
A new Converse Pride collection and campaign, which is on its fifth year, inspired by the “More Color, More Pride” flag, an expanded symbol representing the power of diversity and inclusion, will be launched in the Philippines for the first time.
Moving towards June 27, when global LGBTQIA+ communities and their allies will connect with each other to celebrate Pride 2020 digitally, Converse will introduce its 2020 Pride collection inspired by the “More Color, More Pride” flag that was first conceptualized and popularized by social justice advocate Amber Hikes.
A collection of Chuck 70s and Chuck Taylor All Stars, as well as apparel and accessories featuring the “More Color, More Pride” flag—which expands the rainbow colors to include a brown and black stripe, representing the Latinx and Black LGBTQIA+ communities. Converse By YOU, the brand’s product customization platform, will offer styles that can be personalized for individual expression, with new customizable design options inspired by bisexual, pansexual, non-binary, and transgender flags.
As the brand marks its fifth anniversary celebrating Pride, Converse is proud to have donated more than $1,000,000 in support of local and global LGBTQIA+ organizations, including longstanding partner It Gets Better Project. This year, Converse has pledged to support It Gets Better Project, Ali Forney Center, BAGLY and OUT MetroWest with charitable contributions from its Pride collection.
Converse’s Pride collection was born out of its LGBTQIA+ employee network – which supports every step of the Pride journey, from ideation to product design to marketing and community giveback – and has since evolved into an annual celebration that brings together the community and its allies in Boston and beyond.
The Converse PRIDE collection will be available soon on Lazada, Converse Glorietta, Trinoma, Shangri-la, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, Ayala Center Cebu, Ayala Center Block.
