2017 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS
August 27 | California, USA
Last Sunday (Monday, PHT), there were only two must-see TV events. If you weren’t with the dragon and the wolf, then you probably were screaming over the explosive performances at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Kendrick Lamar, Fifth Harmony, Katy Perry, and Lorde were just some of the artists who added to the chaos of this traditionally controversial awards show.
Lamar also had one of his best years, as “Humble.” had him winning six out of eight nominations: Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects. Ed Sheeran and Khalid won Best Artist of the Year and Best New Artist, respectively, while Fifth Harmony brought home the Best Pop Award for their single, “Down”.
And although the artists on the MTV VMA red carpet were a bit more behaved, a few still went all-out in their outfits—Jared Leto stepped out in a sequined cape and a silk floral shirt from Gucci, Ludacris was dapper in a dark green three-piece suit, and Calvin Harris looked almost restrained in his peacock print shirt and gray trousers from Alexander McQueen.

BETA NIGHT PRESENTED BY NEW BALANCE AND SNEAKPEEK
August 30 | Makati City, Metro Manila
August 30 was Beta Night in Manila as New Balance and SneakPeek filled the Black Market in Makati with good music, the right booze, and today’s fashion. Through this event, New Balance infects the young creatives of today with the “Always in Beta” mindset, driving them to search for the next better thing and to take culture farther from where it currently is. After the success of the first Beta Night in Manila, we’re eager for the next installment!
