Moses Sumney doesn’t just wear fragrance, he inhabits it. This year, the multi-hyphenate artist returns as the face of Rabanne’s Million Gold Elixir, the brand’s boldest and most opulent masculine scent yet. Known for bending genre and style, Sumney embodies the elixir’s daring spirit: confident, unrestrained, and undeniably golden.
If Million Gold Eau de Parfum Intense set the tempo in 2024, then Million Gold Elixir is the crescendo. Composed by perfumers Christophe Raynaud and Quentin Bisch, this fragrance leans into ambery, woody, and spicy accords with a gourmand twist. It opens with a burst of mandarin and bergamot, lifted by a sparkle of cardamom. At the heart, an intense vanilla liqueur note takes center stage which is rich, syrupy, and addictive wrapped with sandalwood and cedarwood for creamy depth. Finally, the base burns slow and sensual with labdanum, benzoin, patchouli, and cypriol oil, creating a leathery, resinous trail that lingers like molten gold on skin.
Fragrance fans are calling it “liquid gold in a bottle,” with some even comparing the decadent vanilla-sandalwood base to “a niche perfume hiding in plain sight.”
The bottle, too, feels like a statement piece. Shaped like Rabanne’s iconic gold ingot, it now gleams with an amber gemstone encircled by the XL link signaling an unmistakable insignia of success.
For her, Rabanne unveils Million Gold Parfum fronted by Gigi Hadid, the radiant queen of the night. This new woody-floral creation shines with luminous jasmine absolute and solar ylang ylang, grounded by warm, creamy sandalwood for an irresistibly sensual finish. Its multi-faceted bottle mirrors the masculine Elixir with a smoky glaze and that signature XL link, symbolizing strength, beauty, and golden confidence in every facet.
