Soft launch: Aesop’s first creamy body cleanser is here

Eleos is the brand’s most hydrating cleanse yet—eight years in the making
Some routines are worth slowing down for—especially the ones that bookend your day, when you’re getting ready to slow down and just be. Aesop’s latest launch, Eleos Nourishing Body Cleanser, is all about making the daily shower feel a little more grounding, a little more considered.
This is a first for Aesop: a cream cleanser for the body. After years of sticking to their signature gels, the brand took a softer turn—eight years in the making, to be exact. The result is a smooth, emulsion-based formula that feels more like a lotion than a traditional wash. It lathers gently, rinses clean, and leaves skin feeling calm, not tight or dry.

Eleos was developed in Aesop’s Melbourne lab with a focus on hydration and skin comfort. It combines Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed, and Vitamin E with mild surfactants, aiming to cleanse without overdoing it. The scent brings together Cedar Atlas, Patchouli, and Clove Bud—woody, earthy, and just the right amount of spice.
“Our experience in developing face cleansers tells us that drier skin types require non-disruptive, non-aggravating but nonetheless efficient cleansing containing mild surfactants alongside generous measures of emollients and hydrating ingredients,” shared Samy Hamada, Aesop’s Director of R&D. “For many years we have harboured a desire to offer such nurturing, emulsion-based cleansing to the whole body, and following much experimentation we are able to realise that ambition with Eleos Nourishing Body Cleanser.”

Designed for everyday use, Eleos fits easily into your routine—massage it onto wet skin, rinse, and follow up with your go-to body moisturizer. For extra dry spots like hands or elbows, the Eleos Aromatique Hand Balm makes a nice pairing.
The new Eleos Nourishing Body Cleanser comes in a 500mL recycled PET bottle (pump or screw cap) for your shower shelf, and a 180mL recycled PE tube that’s travel-friendly.
