Metamorphosis and elegance take center stage in Dior’s fall 2025 collection

A celebration of structure, minimalism, and the house codes of Dior

For his latest presentation for the House of Dior, Kim Jones unearthed a gem from the archives: the Ligne H collection from 1954. This season, the designer reimagined the feminine silhouettes of Dior’s past, crafting longer, more gender-fluid forms for the fall 2025 collection.

Breaking from recent trends, there were no streetwear collaborations, no logo mania, and no bold prints to distract. Instead, Jones leaned into the maison’s storied house codes, allowing the craftsmanship and construction of the garments to take center stage.

Metamorphosis and shape-shifting emerged as defining themes of the collection. Feminine shapes, such as the iconic hourglass silhouette, were masterfully translated into menswear staples. Bows—a nod to Dior’s heritage—appeared as delicate details, gracing sleeves or the backs of garments, adding a touch of whimsy.

One of the standout elements was the cinched waist, which gave a fresh perspective to both short and long coats, cropped cardigan-and-trouser ensembles, and slim-top-with-wide-pants pairings. Together, these pieces paid homage to the Ligne H’s clean, architectural lines.

The color palette was intentionally minimal yet striking: blush pinks, satin finishes, navy blues, grays, and whites dominated the runway. Far from dull, these tones highlighted the elegance of the designs. In a playful twist, some models walked the runway with ribbons tied over their eyes, infusing a provocative, avant-garde edge into the collection.

Kim also sprinkled in nods to Dior’s storied past. Embroidery inspired by 1961 adorned hybrid trainers, while the pièce de résistance came in the show’s finale: a dramatic, voluminous pink robe inspired by the 1948 Haute Couture Pondichery look. This statement piece featured intricate embroidery, a tied bow at the front, and a matching sheer eye mask—perfectly encapsulating the collection’s balance of modernity and tradition.
