Kenzo fall 2025: The high-speed fusion of East and West

Get ready to ride ‘The Kenzo Commute’

Kenzo’s Fall 2025 runway presentation, helmed by Artistic Director Nigo, was a captivating ode to cultural cross-pollination. Titled The Kenzo Commute, the collection envisioned a futuristic high-speed journey from Tokyo to Paris, weaving a wardrobe inspired by the thrill of travel and the fusion of global influences.

A standout element of the collection was the collaboration with legendary New York graffiti artist Futura, whose signature abstract and kinetic designs brought a raw, urban energy to the runway. Futura’s graffiti work, renowned for its blend of street art and fine art sensibilities, adorned select pieces with bold brushstrokes and striking motifs. From outerwear to denim, his iconic hand gave the garments a rebellious edge, reflecting the pulse of metropolitan life.

Nigo revisited and reimagined concepts from the maison’s iconic fall-winter 1998 Train Show, injecting the collection with a fresh sense of movement and adventure. This season’s looks embraced the idea of passage—both physical and cultural—by melding East and West through dress codes, textures, and patterns. The result was a playful yet preppy palette invigorated by the dynamic energy of travel.

Classic suiting was given a modern, Japanese twist, with three-piece suits redefined by kimono-cut waistcoats and jackets that seamlessly blended traditional tailoring with experimental shapes. The collection also showcased striking blazers with contrasting lapels and shirts with motifs that echoed the graphics of train windows, featuring stunning vistas of Mount Fuji and Paris, inspired by the Orient Express journeys of the 1990s.
