VIDEO: Actor Charlie Heaton prefers his fragrance dark and disco-ready
A new offering from the House of Rabanne
There’s something inherently rock and roll and grungy about Charlie Heaton. From his roles in “Stranger Things” and “The New Mutants,” the mystery within his characters enhances the enigmatic quality of his personality, making him a fitting choice for Rabanne (formerly Paco Rabanne) as the face of their newest fragrance, Phantom Parfum.
In the new campaign, Charlie is seen wearing metallic pieces reminiscent of the house’s iconic disco-era sequined dresses. He grooves to the music of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” while posing with the playful matte black robotic bottle of the fragrance.
Phantom Parfum is said to capture a “dream-like night in Paris,” embodying a man who thrives in darkness. It was created by Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Dominique Ropion, and Anne Flipo, who incorporated top notes of cardamom, rhubarb, bergamot, and lemon for a zingy opening.
For the middle notes, the curators blended lavender, patchouli, geranium, and cedarwood to create a magnetic, edgy masculine appeal. The base notes include a blend of vanilla, Tolu balsam, and Haitian vetiver, giving the fragrance a hint of sensuality.
To complement Phantom Parfum, the fragrance house also launched Fame Parfum, composed by globally renowned perfumers Dora Baghriche, Marie Salamagne, and Alberto Morillas.
At the outset, creamy incense, the iconic signature of Fame, opens the fragrance. In the heart, a jasmine trio tailor-made for Rabanne is harnessed in an essence, while the base brings newfound intensity and richness from mineral musk known as Helvetolide, creating a softer pear facet and smooth ambrette undertones, giving this creation an irresistible gourmand charm.
Rabanne’s Phantom and Fame Parfums are now available at leading department stores and popular online shopping apps.
