ICYMI: Chris Hemsworth, Sam Hargrave kicked off ‘Extraction 2’ world press tour in Manila

The premiere was attended by celebrities, press, influencers, and fans

News has emerged that Tyler Rake lives on in “Extraction 2” from Netflix, scheduled for release on June 16, 2023. To commence the global tour for the film, Chris Hemsworth, who portrays the protagonist in this action-packed movie, arrived in Manila along with the film’s director, Sam Hargrave. 

They both captivated local celebrities, the press, influencers, and fans during an afternoon of conversation preceding the advanced screening of the film.

“I feel excited to be here. Thank you very much for the warm welcome,” Chris said at the press conference on June 5 held at Conrad Manila. Sam also expressed how proud he was of his follow-up film. “This is even bigger and larger and more exciting,” he said, referencing the sequel to one of the most watched titles on Netflix.

During the conference, Chris shared some details about what to expect in the film. “One of the craziest things we did in ‘Extraction 2’ was land a helicopter on a moving train,” he revealed.

For the APAC premiere of the film, Chris and Sam made their way to SM Mall of Asia, where over 800 fans were invited to witness the stars on the red carpet. They spent time taking photographs with fans and signing posters.

Among the local celebrities and influencers in attendance were Alden Richards, Alodia Gosiengfiao-Quimbo, and Miguel Tanfelix. Renowned action stars from Asia, including Derek Ramsey, Malaysia’s Aaron Aziz and Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin, and Thailand’s Ananda Everingham and Nawat Kulrattanarak, also shared a special moment on stage with both stars.

Before departing, Chris conveyed a special message to his fans. “Thank you so much for all your support and love for the first film. We appreciate your enthusiasm and excitement for the second one. We wouldn’t be here without you,” said the actor.
