Summer 2023: MSGM and the land of surfers and cowboys
Welcome to the island
Inspired by Michel Houellebecq’s “The Possibility of an Island” novel, MSGM creative director Massimo Giorgetti centered his collection on the connection of man and nature co-existing in absolute harmony.
For the collection, Massimo used tropical prints and stripes on relaxed silhouettes to convey his point of view.
For the motifs, a lot of boxy shirts appeared in floral. The banana prints on coordinating short-sleeved polos and oversized shorts made the vibe sunnier while the palm trees used as prints for knit cardigans and hoodies made an interesting take on outerwear for summer.
Western influences also materialized on the runway: a couple of shirts appeared with bolo ties, there was a play on denim ensembles, and some looks were topped with cowboy hats for that added rodeo effect.
For the colors, striking yellow, bright green, blue, and pink dominated the capsule, helping the collection achieve a breezier and lighthearted feel.
