WATCH: Jacquemus splashes into summer with Hawaii presentation
This is our ultimate summer boy inspo
It was early February this year when Simon Porte Jacquemus gave us a taste of what’s to come in his spring-summer 2022 collection. With Bad Bunny as his “muse,” he teased bright summer colored pieces worn by the artist for the campaign.
For the full spring-summer 2022 presentation, Simon ditched the LA pooland flew to the islands of Hawaii to present his latest offering titled “Le Splash.” Jacquemus shared on Instagram: “For our first show staged outside of France, Jacquemus is presenting its spring/summer 2022 collection on O‘ahu. The islands of Hawaii, with their awe-inspiring landscapes, diverse climates, and untold biodiversity, stood out as the perfect complement to the exuberant Le Splash collection. This show takes inspiration from Jacquemus’ 2021 campaign shot by Tom Kneller on O‘ahu, and for Simon, who has long wished to visit the islands, it marks the culmination of both a personal and professional dream.”
The presentation took place by the coastline where models paraded in bright colored pieces in orange, lime green, pink, yellow, and blue. Scuba-inspired onesies appeared on the runway as well as body-hugging tops that were paired with baggy pants. Vivid suits were also a star of the show along with check tops, bottoms, and sarongs. Some pieces were embellished with crystals while some others were printed floral. Accessories also embodied the summer spirit featuring goggle-looking sunglasses and bags detailed with water floater devices.
