This new Comme des Garçons fragrance is inspired by a 600-year-old soap
Meet the Marseille eau de toilette
Originally produced in Marseille, France around 600 years ago, the Marseille soap or Savon de Marseille is a soap produced for domestic cleaning, hand-washing, and even as an agricultural product. Now it has been bottled up by Comme des Garçons (CdG) for a fragrance that will leave you feeling and smelling clean and fresh.
CdG’s Marseille fuses the original scent of the iconic European soap with notes of neroli, heart of petalia, orange crystals, and a base fixative that is ambrofix botted in a clear spray and boxed in a minimalist white packaging. The nose behind this clean fragrance is Quentin Bisch who has worked with perfume brands like Azzaro, Boucheron, Carolina Herrera, Etat Libre d’Orange, Mugler, and the classic 1 Million Parfum by Paco Rabanne, to name a few.
The CdG Marseille fragrance is available online at Dover Street Market in 30ml and 50ml bottles.
