Carl Jan Cruz’s latest collection: like your well-loved and well-worn house clothes, except it’s good enough to be worn outside
Fresh from presenting at the most recent Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks, Carl Jan Cruz is back in Manila, already hustling with the launch of his Pambahay collection.
The pieces, available exclusively at the Tropa Store, prove to be true to the collection’s name: lived-in clothes in breathable fabrics with ripping on the neckline and sleeves—a personal touch by Cruz himself.
Clearly, they were inspired by casual house clothes, worn religiously until they’ve fallen apart, except Cruz’s pieces are presentable to wear outside the house.
Tropa Store also carries the limited edition GG Very Much t-shirt, Cruz’s collab tee with GG For You, a Manila-based independent creative agency. The t-shirt is similar to the rest of the Pambahay collection when it comes to its torn-out sleeves and hems, and the color is reminiscent of a faded tee that has been worn and washed too many times. The print was designed by GG For You and the embroidery by Cruz.
To long-time fans of the designer, his highly popular folded wide-leg denim pants are also available at Tropa Store, alongside the Pambahay collection.
