LOOK: Illest opens first standalone store in the PH, bringing Mark Arcenal’s vision home
The founder brings Illest closer to its Filipino audience, strengthening the connection between streetwear, car culture, and the local community
Illest, the globally recognized streetwear brand founded by Mark Arcenal, has launched its first standalone store in the Philippines at SM North The Block. Known for seamlessly blending streetwear and car culture, Illest has made waves worldwide, particularly in the U.S. and Japan, and now returns to its founder’s Filipino roots.
Mark, a pioneering figure in both streetwear and automotive culture, created Illest in 2009 as an expression of his dual passions. Born to Filipino parents, Mark has long been connected to his heritage, and the opening of the first Illest store in the Philippines represents a homecoming of sorts. By bringing the brand to Manila, Mark is sharing his vision and passion with a local audience that shares the same love for streetwear and car culture.
The new store is designed to be more than just a retail space. With exclusive merchandise and limited-edition pieces, such as the Illest x RWB collaboration tees designed by Mark, it’s an immersive experience that celebrates the brand’s unique fusion of fashion and automotive culture. Every element in the store reflects Illest’s dedication to creating an authentic lifestyle experience.
The store’s grand opening also saw appearances by automotive icons Akira Nakai, founder of RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB), and Angie King, founder of Car Porn Racing. Their presence further emphasized the brand’s deep ties to global car culture.
