Get Fit, get strong: The Pilates revolution you need

Strong Pilates offers both low-impact and high-intensity workout

Rockwell, Makati has a new fitness hub that’s turning heads. Strong Pilates Philippines is not your typical workout studio—it’s where Pilates meets cardio in a dynamic, full-body workout that challenges you in just 45 minutes.

Located at The Proscenium at Rockwell, Strong Pilates offers a workout that’s both low-impact and high-intensity, designed to burn up to 800 calories per session. The studio’s standout feature is the Rowformer, a machine that combines rowing with resistance training for a seamless, efficient workout, and its counterpart, the Bikeformer, which was introduced in 2023, has a BikeErg attached instead of the Rowformer’s RowErg. Whether you’re a Pilates veteran or just getting started, the classes are designed to push your limits and keep you engaged.

Co-owner Kenneth Toh discovered Strong Pilates while exploring new fitness trends and quickly realized its potential. “I was immediately intrigued by what the brand brings to the fitness industry. As I get older, I appreciate the benefits of low-impact training more, especially as I engage in various exercises like running, spinning, and functional training. I’ve tried Pilates before and enjoyed it, but I always felt that I needed a second workout.”

Kenneth continues, “When we flew to Australia to try my first Strong Pilates class, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. It combines Pilates-inspired flows with cardio and strength training, offering a high-intensity sweat session. This unique approach is something new to the Philippines, and I’m excited to introduce Strong Pilates to you all.”

Adrienne Loa, the studio’s other co-owner, points out that Strong Pilates is perfect for the “cosmopolitan” fitness crowd in the Philippines, who enjoy variety in their workouts. The studio offers a range of class types, from full-body sessions to high-intensity cardio, catering to different fitness levels and preferences.

Strong Pilates offers five main class types that appeal to all fitness levels, including Pilates enthusiasts seeking a challenge to HIIT fans looking for a low-impact option. Strong Body is a complete full-body burn with low-impact movements, paired perfectly with high intensity cardio bursts. Strong Loaded focuses on heavy springs, heavy dumbbells, and more growth and gains. Strong Sweat is all about that high-intensity, high sweat, and high volume for a huge calorie burn, plus increased endurance. Pilates Only allows for Pilates flows and dynamic movements for mobility, balance, and strength. Beginner Classes takes members through the ins and outs of either the Rowformer or Bikeformer and perfecting the form.
