LOOK: Sneaker brand launches a revamped low-profile silhouette footwear
Puma reintroduces the Speedcat OG
Originally designed as fireproof footwear for Formula One (F1) racers in 1998, the Puma Speedcat quickly became a fashion must-have in the 2000s thanks to its minimalist yet striking low-profile silhouette. As time goes by, this iconic footwear is poised to step back into the spotlight, with the low-profile look making a big comeback in the fashion scene.
Ahead of its fall 2024 campaign, Puma is dropping a revamped version of the sneaker, dubbed the Puma Speedcat OG. Featuring Ultra Suede, an enhanced version of the original suede, this model is distinguished by a gold foil logo on the tongue and heel tab, along with signature cat embroidery on the toe. Additionally, the updated midsole and Softform+ footbed ensure a lighter, more comfortable fit, enhancing overall wearability compared to previous models.
Starting in the latter half of the year, various colorways of the silhouette will be released in addition to the existing red and black colorways. To perpetuate its trendsetting influence, Puma is also launching newly reinterpreted Speedcat models through collaborations with fashion brands Coperni and JUUN.J.
The Speedcat OG will have new stock available starting September 26, 2024. You can sign up through this link to receive updates on how to get a new pair.
