Spring-Summer 2025: Dries Van Noten’s last runway show
The Belgian designer exits eponymous label after 38 years
In March 2024, it was announced that Dries Van Noten would be stepping down as the creative director of his namesake label. This June, as the house presents its 129th show, Dries bids farewell to the runway, surrounded by industry friends, including fellow designers and models who have collaborated with the house over the years.
The collection features 70 looks showcased on a long silver foil runway, fluttering like the metallic wings of butterflies. Seasoned model Alain Gossuin opened the show in a classic floor-length tuxedo, a piece encoded with the brand’s DNA. The runway was graced by equally sartorial pieces crafted from elegant fabrics like cotton and linen, paired with sheer organza and reflective materials for layering.
In an emotional finale, Dries appeared on the runway after the curtain call, smiling as a giant disco ball descended, hinting at a celebratory dance marking the end of his tenure.
The brand, which is part of the Spanish company Puig that includes Carolina Herrera, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Nina Ricci, has yet to announce who will take over the creative director role for Dries Van Noten.
