Jo Loves opens biggest Asia store in the Philippines

“Fragrance wasn’t a business to me. It wasn’t my job. It was my best friend and all I really wanted to do was create fragrance,” shared Jo Malone CBE, when asked about how she started Jo Loves.
If you didn’t know, Jo Loves was founded by the creator of Jo Malone London fragrances years after she sold her first fragrance line to Estée Lauder Companies. Jo Loves was established in 2011 and has been cherished by many around the world. Now, the niche fragrance line has finally landed in the Philippines, opening its largest store in Asia located at Glorietta 4 in Makati.
On Dec.15, we were invited by Atelier de Prestige, together with The Beauty Edit to get the first look and experience the new store. The new fragrance haven boasts multiple fragrance counters and a Fragrance Tapas bar where customers can experience a unique way of discovering fragrance layering, from body care to perfumes, through a bar-style serving.
Another noteworthy item in the store is the Fragrance Paintbrush, a pen-type fragrance dispensing gel formula that locks in the scent. These paintbrushes have replaceable cartridges, making them sustainable and travel-friendly.
We had the opportunity to experience 15 fragrances from the newly opened store, and here are our top recommendations, ranging from light fragrances to those with warmer and darker undertones.
Pomelo, P8,550
Jo loves pomelo, and we do too! She mentioned getting stopped by people when she wears the fragrance, and we understand why. It’s bright, very suitable for our climate in the Philippines, and it will remind you of summer mornings. Notes include vetiver, pomelo, patchouli, and pomelo zest.
Mango Thai Lime, P8,550
Created with Thailand in Jo’s mind, this fragrance encapsulates her memories of the mouthwatering culinary flavors of the country. Notes include golden mango, lime, black pepper, and mint leaves.
Jo by Jo Loves, P9,800
Jo confessed that this particular fragrance was a love letter to herself. It features sparkling grapefruit, bitter orange, guaiac wood, cedar, and black pepper, giving it a burst of freshness with woody depth.
Shards of Cedar and Red Thyme, P8,550
Described as a sophisticated seduction in a bottle, this fragrance boasts intoxicating notes perfect for day or nightwear. Notes include bergamot, lavender, vetiver, and thyme.
Smoked Plum and Leather, P8,550
While all Jo Loves fragrances are unisex, this one leans more towards the masculine side due to its smokiness. It’s almost gourmand, but the leather texture in this fragrance makes it richer, and darker. Notes include aged cognac, plum liquid, cinnamon, and leather.
