Here are the Prada spring-summer 2022 key pieces to covet
Skorts, stripes, and lots of skin
Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ presentation for Prada’s latest collection evoked excitement for sunny adventures next summer. The collection foresaw a future of no restrictions, either geographically or sartorially, with garments suggesting an inexistent pandemic with the positivity and carefree vibe articulated throughout.
With skorts as the prominent fragment in the assemblage, it is only expected for skin-baring pieces to follow through. In its fashion film narrative, models took the collection for a beach escapade in Sardinia with multi-colored almond-shaped bucket hats as well as mod patterns.
Aside from aesthetics, the show also tackled environmental issues with the presentation’s production. “The Prada spring-summer 2022 menswear collection was filmed in Milan at the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito, as well as in Sardinia; in appreciation of and thanks to the Sardinian community, Prada supports the MEDSEA Foundation in its project to restore marine ecosystems with the reforestation of Posidonia Oceanica meadows in the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara,” the brand stated. “Posidonia Oceanica is a marine plant endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, providing an important habitat for marine species and playing a crucial role in absorbing CO2 to help mitigate climate change.”
Below are the key looks and pieces from Prada’s spring-summer 2022 collection:
Skorts
Dubbed as the defining garment of this collection, the skirt and short mix appeared in solid and patterned pieces, which were paired with tank tops, knit, and leather wear.
Tank tops
Square-neckline tank tops also ruled the presentation. The pieces appeared patterned or printed in various materials.
Bucket hats
Bucket hats, the appointed accessory of the Prada collection, were elevated with almond-shaped brims and slits that act as eyewear holders. The Prada bucket hat gave multifunctional a whole new meaning.
Rompers
The striped variety made a major statement during the show. The one-piece garment paired with bucket hats and sunnies ignited a modern cult style following.
Sandals
Prada opted to showcase their square-toed sandals taking form in black and brown with buckles and straps.
