CÈLINE’S NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR IS HEDI SLIMANE
January 21
With Phoebe Philo’s exit from Cèline in February, the designer house welcomes its new artistic, creative, and image director Hedi Slimane. Slimane was out of the design world for almost two years after he left Saint Laurent in 2016, focusing on his photography during those times. The LVMH Group welcomes back Slimane with great anticipation of the work the designer will be doing for Cèline’s women’s collection and leather goods, as well as an introduction of its menswear, couture, and fragrances. Slimane’s first collection with Cèline will be its spring/summer 2019 and will be presented in September. https://www.instagram.com/p/BeNXljAArX0/?taken-by=lvmh
THE 24TH SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS
January 21
It’s officially red carpet season! After the Golden Globes early this month, Hollywood once again stepped out in full force at the 24th Screen Actors Guild Awards. While the black dress code of the Globes was no longer in effect, support against sexual abuse remained visible with actors’ gowns and tuxedos sporting the Time’s Up movement pin. The drama series This is Us and its actor Sterling K. Brown continue to dominate the award shows as they bagged the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series awards, respectively. Big Little Lies was also one of the big winners of the night with actors Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård receiving awards for Outstanding Performances by Female and Male Actors in a Television Movie or Limited Series.
