Chloé Atelier des Fleurs bottles the Mediterranean beyond the sea
Les Essences Méditerranéennes looks beyond the shoreline, finding the scent of summer in pine trees, fig leaves, lavender, and sun-warmed greenery
There’s more to the Mediterranean than the sea. Before you reach the water, there are pine trees overhead, wild herbs underfoot, fig trees growing along the road, and lavender warmed by the sun. Chloé Atelier des Fleurs’ Les Essences Méditerranéennes, launched in 2026, takes that landscape as its starting point.
Rather than recreating the familiar beach fragrance formula of salt, aquatic notes, and sunscreen, the four-piece collection looks at what surrounds the shore. The result is a Mediterranean that feels greener, woodier, and a little more unexpected.

Sous les Pins heads straight into the pines, built around pine needles and eucalyptus with floral, musky, and woody facets. It captures the cooler, resinous side of a Mediterranean forest, the kind of scent you might notice while walking through the trees before the beach even comes into view.
Then there’s Vert Soleil, which focuses on lentisque, a Mediterranean shrub, alongside green mandarin and woody-musky notes. It’s leafy and aromatic rather than citrusy in the obvious way, giving the collection its distinctly green side.

Plage du Figuier turns to the fig tree, combining fig with orange blossom, salty nuances, and woods. There’s still a suggestion of the coast here, but the focus stays on the vegetation around it rather than the water itself.
Finally, Sable Lavande puts lavender under a warmer lens, pairing it with fig, cardamom, clary sage, and woody-musky notes. It feels less like a traditional lavender fragrance and more like the herb growing wild somewhere along a sun-drenched Mediterranean path.
Together, the four fragrances offer a different kind of summer fantasy. No obvious sunscreen moment, no attempt to bottle the ocean. Just the landscape around it, which, as it turns out, has plenty to say.
