It’s all about man power and oversized clothing for Prada fall-winter 2022

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons present their latest collection

They say on the runway: It’s not about the models but it’s all about the clothes. Although for this presentation of Prada for fall-winter 2022, it was hard to ignore the fact that the runway was flooded with actors walking out of a futuristic portal. Kyle MacLachlan, who played Paul Atreides in the 1984 movie “Dune,” opened the show together with Thomas Brodie-Sangster of “Game of Thrones,” Asa Butterfield of “Sex Education,” Ashton Sanders of “Moonlight” and more followed with Jeffrey Goldblum closing the show.

“In the #PradaFW22 Show actors are interpreters of reality, employed to echo truth through their portrayals. Here, everyday reality is valorized, its signs and signifiers exchanged with those of elegance and sophistication. Through fabrication and methodology, an equal gravity is given to each genre of clothing – every facet of reality is offered significance, a sophistication and esteem, a lasting value,” shares Prada.

The actors and the models were dressed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons in oversized clothing mainly in deep colors with pops of neon. Broad shoulder leather coats took the lead with a number of pieces sporting trims of feather on the hem and elbows. Multi-colored overalls also appeared on the runway which looked like fashion-forward astronaut suits. Pants were loose but waists were kept cinched. Accessories were kept minimal but striking enough to make a statement.
