Kim Jones and Travis Scott collaborate for new men’s collection

A new powerhouse collaboration happened over at Dior as artistic director Kim Jones and musical artist Travis Scott reshape menswear for spring-summer 2022. During the show, the French luxury fashion house debuted a refreshing symphony of streetwear cred and fine classic tailoring.

The springboard for the new Dior collection was the spirit of America. In 1947, fashion designer Christian Dior traveled to America for his debut collection with Texas as one of his first stops. The landscape and scenery with its grand canyons and deserts made a lasting impression on the designer.

The brand stated: “Inspired by Dior’s deep-rooted connection to this American state, men’s artistic director Kim Jones has lassoed this legacy into today, collaborating with the Texan-born rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer Travis Scott on the Dior summer 2022 men’s collection.”

Aside from Kim and Travis, the house of Dior also tapped an artist to produce special pieces for the capsule. “Curated for Dior and Travis Scott to be auctioned off for Parsons School of Design, these shirts were hand-painted by the America artist @artistgeorgecondo. At the crossroads of pop influences and the art of the great masters of Europe, George Condo’s creations perfectly underscore the themes of the collection,” the brand said on social media.

The pieces will then be auctioned off after the show and “100 percent of the proceeds going to support future generations of creative talent through scholarships.”
