In 2011, Japanese eyewear brand OWNDAYS started giving back to society by giving out free glasses to the needy through their Eye Camp. This April, it embarks on another campaign that aims to support the causes of animal welfare, environmental protection, and child empowerment.
Cases for Change is Owndays’ latest campaign done in partnership with three non-profit organisations: the Philippine Animal Welfare Society, the World Wide Fund For Nature Philippines, and World Vision Philippines. For this, the eyewear brand has created three uniquely designed eyewear cases that are meant not only to raise funds for all three organisations but also to raise awareness about what they do.

As an eyewear retailer, OWNDAYS aims to make the world look more beautiful. With that goal in mind, we created Cases For Change and partnered with Philippine Animal Welfare Society, World Wide Fund For Nature Philippines, and World Vision Philippines to create three uniquely designed eyewear cases. 100% of sales will go to these non-profit organizations to support their causes. According to Jun Godornes, resource development director of World Vision Philippines, this partnership could not have been more timely. “This year, World Vision is focusing on digital education. We are hoping that as we all work together and support Cases For Change, we are able to make Filipino communities and our society look more beautiful.” Cases For Change will also help with the WWF’s conservation initiatives. “[With the help of this campaign], our environmental efforts are furthered, and we make sure that present and future generations get to see and experience the beauty that the world has to offer,” said Dan Ramirez, communications and media manager of World Wide Fund For Nature Philippines, in a statement. With PAWS, the campaign is dedicated to lessen drastically the number of euthanasia cases resulting from irresponsible pet ownership. Said PAWS executive editor Anna Hashim-Cabrera, “Our advocacy is actually to prevent cats and dogs from being rescued in the first place by making people aware of how they should be responsible pet owners. We hope that people have some time to come over and show their support for PAWS to help us make a better change for the animals.”
Each of the Cases for Change collaboration cases will be sold at Php250 with every purchase of Owndays prescription glasses, and at Php500 if no purchase is made. Collaboration cases are available at all Owndays stores nationwide starting on April 1.
